Smile.Health — your personal smile coach

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Smile.Health ("we," "our," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Smile.Health app, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, and login credentials.

Health & habit data. To provide the app's core features, we collect information you log yourself, including:

This information is health-related and is treated with additional care. We do not sell this data.

Photos. If you use the Photo Timeline feature, we collect the progress photos you take or upload. Photos are used solely to show your smile's progress over time and to power photo-based analysis features in the app.

Purchase information. Smile.Health offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, subscription status, and an anonymized user identifier in order to validate purchases, manage entitlements, and keep your subscription status in sync across devices. RevenueCat does not receive your payment card details — those are handled directly by Apple. Learn more at RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Usage & analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how people use Smile.Health — for example, which onboarding steps are completed, where users drop off, and which features are used most. Data collected may include app interactions and screen views, device information, anonymized or pseudonymous identifiers, and general usage patterns. We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it. Learn more at PostHog's privacy policy.

Diagnostic information. We may collect crash logs and performance data to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

If you generate and share a Dentist Report, it is shared only when and how you choose to share it (e.g., exporting or sending it yourself).

4. Your Choices

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

Smile.Health is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (including RevenueCat and PostHog) operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and where required, we will notify you through the app or by other means.

10. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at:

privacy@smile.health

Before you publish: replace the contact email above with your real support/legal address, confirm the company name if you operate under one, and double-check the data-retention window (30 days used here as a placeholder) matches what you actually do. Given the health-related data this app collects, it's worth having a lawyer review this before launch — particularly for GDPR (EU users), CCPA (California users), and any health-data regulations that may apply in your markets.
